Natsume Chasen Chashaku

Rikyū-gata chū-natsume, 棗, jujube; 1.8 sun kujira-jaku, cha-sen, 茶筅, tea-whisk; 3 sun kujira-jaku.  Mono-sashi, 物差, thing-distinction; ruler, bamboo: kujira-jaku, 鯨尺, whale-‘measure’ [37.88 cm – 14.9 inches].

Ao-dake futa-oki, 青竹蓋置, green-bamboo lid-place; 1.8 sun kane-jaku. Rikyū-gata chū-natsume, 利休形中棗, Rikyū-shape middle-jujube; 1.8 sun kujira-jaku.  Note height of the fushi, 節, node of the futaoki, 8/10th the height of the futaoki, is the same height as the place where the natsume lid joins the body. The ratio between the height of the futaoki and the lowest level of the fushi is 10 to 8. The lowest level of the fushi establishes the shōmen of the futaoki.
